NICU Parent Network Leadership Summit 2023
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the 2024 NICU Parent Network Leadership Summit. This summit is particularly meaningful to me, as I am a member of their Board of Directors. But honestly, the most special part about going to this summit each year is the feeling that I am coming home. The NICU Parent Network is the premier US-based professional organization of NICU parent leaders who collectively represent the needs and best interests of NICU families.

I was honored to be a guest on the NICU Alumni Podcast series, and it was just in time so that I could share it during Prematurity Awareness Month!
A Walk in My Shoes: My presentation at ECU’s 15th Annual Kopelman Lecture
I was honored to travel to Eastern Carolina University to speak at the 15th Annual Arthur Kopelman Lecture. It’s so impressive that they wanted a NICU parent to address their neonatologists and NICU nurses. They value the NICU parent perspective.

My micro preemie turns 10 today! She was born at 23 weeks gestation, weighing only 1 pound and 4 ounces and she was just 11 ¼ inches long. It was a long journey, filled with trauma, fear and a lot of love. Happy Birthday to my micro preemie!
Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting 2022
It was an honor to present at the 2022 Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Meeting in Denver last weekend. This event was very special to me because I was presenting the research on the paper that I published in the Journal of Perinatology as lead author, as part of the International Neonatal Consortium, called “The culture of research communication in neonatal intensive care units: key stakeholder perspectives.”
Conflict in Ukraine: Effects on Moms & Babies
The NICU Parent Network (NPN) and National Perinatal Association (NPA), stand in solidarity with our European neonatal and perinatal colleagues as they struggle to provide care and support to the most vulnerable, medically fragile babies and their families. The Relief Fund for NICUs in Ukraine, a fundraising effort providing targeted support for the Polish NICU parent organization, the Coalition for Preemies – Koalicja dla wcześniaka are providing support and we want to help.
